Pudding Lane Pothole (Northbound)

by p.e.beales

15 Jul 2012

Wednesday 11/7/12, heading home on a scooter on the northbound side of the road, I had slowed down to about 20 mph as there was a 'white van' on the other side of the road and it is a very narrow road, the front wheel went into a puddle concealing quite a deep pothole, managed to hang onto the handlebars without coming off. Stopped the bike to measure the pothole as it was beyond a joke as the road has not been long reopened after work was done on it. By the time I got back to the bike the tyre was flat. On further examination the tyre is OK it is the cast alloy wheel that has cracked. £70 for a new second-hand one, I am just glad I wasn't injured. Reported it to the Council the same day.

Pothole location
1 Pudding Ln, Chigwell, Essex IG7 6BY, UK
Status
Unfilled
